Update the prices of raw material Vannamei and Black tiger shrimp in Mekong delta on Aug 11, 2020

I/ General situation:

Vannamei: prices of Vannamei shrimp went down by the end of July and continued to go down further in early Aug because of the surge of coronavirus cases in Da nang city/Viet Nam and also rising up new cases in main markets US, EU, Japan, China

Together with the surging of the pandemic, prices of Vannamei in Ecuador and India went down a lot have affected to the prices of Vannamei in Viet Nam too. However; the prices are becoming stable in the 2^nd week of Aug and having the signal to go up for many sizes

Right now is almost end of the peak harvesting season of 1^st crop, so I think the prices of Vannamei could go up a bit in coming weeks but not increase much because the pandemic is still happening complicatedly and potential of demand for end year holidays is not clear for sure. Not the same every year, the prices of vannamei normally go up sharply in months of end year, but this year 2020 many shrimp experts feel very confused to predict how the shrimp market moves!

Black tiger shrimp: now is the low season of Black tiger shrimp in Mekong delta, so harvesting is not much and demand of black tiger is not surging so that the prices are almost stable in the long time from June, July and early Aug
