TOP 5 SEAFOOD EXPORT ENTERPRISES IN 2021, MINH PHU CONTINUES TO HOLD THE THRONE

Overcoming 800 seafood export enterprises, Minh Phu Seafood Group won the crown of seafood export and shrimp export of the country, with 395 million USD, accounting for nearly 4.5% of total seafood export turnover.

According to the Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) in 2021, Vietnamese seafood exporters have experienced ups and downs because of the COVID-19 pandemic to bring export turnover to 8.9 billion USD, an increase of nearly 6% compared to 2020.

Of the nearly 800 Vietnamese enterprises participating in seafood export activities, there are 100 enterprises with a turnover of 20-400 million USD, accounting for 65% of the total seafood export turnover of the country.



Notably, Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (Minh Phu Seafood Corp) is the enterprise with the largest revenue with 395 million USD, accounting for nearly 4.5%, leading in seafood export and shrimp export in the whole country.

In which, whiteleg shrimp accounts for about 60%, black tiger shrimp accounts for 40% of Minh Phu's sales. Minh Phu shrimp products are present in over 40 markets around the world, with key markets such as the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands...

Next is Soc Trang Seafood Joint Stock Company (Stapimex) with sales of 317 million USD, accounting for 3.5% with the strength of whiteleg shrimp. In 2021, Stapimex's products will be exported to 25 markets, with major markets such as the US, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Israel...

In third place is Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company (Vinh Hoan Corp) with sales of over 276 million USD, accounting for 3.1%. In 2021 Vinh Hoan's pangasius products are present in 36 markets around the world and achieve breakthrough growth in many markets such as the US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, Spain...

The next two companies are Minh Phu - Hau Giang and Ca Mau Seafood Processing and Services Joint Stock Company (Cases) with sales of 249 million USD and 197 million USD respectively.

According to VASEP, to achieve this result, businesses have made efforts to overcome the most stressful period of the COVID-19 pandemic in the third quarter and recover quickly, especially pangasius and tuna businesses. Many businesses achieved higher sales than before the pandemic.

On the side of large shrimp enterprises, production and exports have also recovered in the fourth quarter, but most have not returned to the level before the peak of the epidemic.
