1/Shrimp farming & operation of factories

Covid situation in Mekong Delta is still being complicated, daily infected cases still increase in Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Can Tho within 200 – 400 cases per day, however; factories are still operating under new normality and at the same time they (factories) maintain testing for workers 3 days/time to filter F0 out of factories if any, vaccination is still carrying out to jab 1st and 2nd doses for people. Generally, the situation is still so,, Covid is still there and Viet Nam is trying to live together with Covid.

Shrimp farmers in Mekong Delta in particular and in other regions in general are still preparing ponds to stock new crops, relevant authorities and enterprises are having programs to support farmers to recover after devastating by Covid pandemic. Right now, weather from the North to the South Middle is rather cold that not suitable with stocking, farmers should prepare ponds and ready to stock when temperature is warmer, in the South the weather is warmer but rains still happen regularly so it affects to shrimp under farming, from now to early Jan temperature in the South will slightly drop due to the affection of cold weather from the North. Well, farmers in Mekong Delta might stock scattered from now until early Jan, after that they stock massively when the weather is warmer.

2/Shrimp prices

* Black tiger: the prices are still flat in this week 46

* Vannamei: due to the complicated situation of Covid, the prices of Vannamei are flat in week 46 (in this case is for buying of factories in general)

According to Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Director of Khanh Sung Co.,Ltd, the price of large-size vannamei shrimp is moving sideways, showing no sign of increasing. Vannamei shrimp 20 pcs/kg price is 240,000 VND, 30 pcs/kg is 168,000 VND, 40 pcs/kg is 148,000 VND. Khanh Sung and other businesses in Mekong Delta are focusing on production to ensure enough orders to deliver to partners during the upcoming Christmas.
